Hi Catorifrejah - I don't know of any magazines, but there is a good store in Berkley, CA named Lacis, I believe. My favorite book though is The Torchon Lace Workbook by Bridget M. Cook.

Hi icekat83 - It's not too hard once you get the hang of it. Reminds me of macrame that I tried as a kid only with finer threads. It does take a little time (longer than friendship bracelets) to make something usable for sewing. This type of handmade lace is often used on the wedding dresses of royalty. It takes months to create all the lace for those dresses.

Yes - It does slow me down. But I keep wanting to pull the threads a little tighter - I probably need more weight on the bobbins.

Wow. I know nothing about lace making. Is it hard? Does it take a long time to make something simple? It looks (a tiny bit anyway) like friendship bracelets I made as a kid but way prettier!
