  • @fletch357 its 4 years.

  • @sabrefox2004 No it is 3 years of regular service before someone can apply for the SAS.

If you are in the Royal Marines you have to serve two years before you can apply for the SBS

  • @somethunder86 you cant apply to the SAS you have to be picked

  • @Callofdutyboys That's nonsense. People apply for the SAS by applying to be on selection. There is some pre-selection proceedures like a medical and such like.

In a way people are picked during selection but not the way you think.

    People still apply.

  • @somethunder86 It was 3 years up until the minimum service requirement became 4 years I believe. I'd assume they wait until after you've served the minimum time required because that's where you are likely to find the dedicated career soldiers. In reality though, most soldiers who go for 22 selection will have around 6-8 years service

  • They're the worlds oldest & most elite special forces. Their motto is "He who dares wins!" Many other special forces around the world have adopted this. The way they fall out the sky from such high or low heights as well...

  • @CASSIUS1704 Can I just correct you? The Air Force has NOTHING to do with the SAS!

ANY member of the Tri-Service Armed Forces can apply for UKSF selection, Inc.PILOTS! The SBS was almost entirely made up of RM but after passing UKSF selection you don't get the say you used to on where you go. SAS,SBS,SRR? Also SF are not trained by Army/Marine vets but SF vets and DS (Directing Staff).

Amalgamation changed alot, ANYONE with 2 yrs service&3yrs left can apply to UKSF.

    Dad should know that....

  • What video is this from?

  • Can i just correct someone a second. The SAS is ran by the Air force/ Army, hence the name Special Air Service. SBS is ran by the Royal Navy and Army, due to most training and stuff is with the Navy locations, but trained by Royal marines and Army Veterans. Any service in the armed forces can join the SAS or SBS because it is armed forces special forces. except pilots can join this is right my dad retired from the Regiment Two years ago and told me.

  • its a fairly simple procedure, although the interview isn't with some smarmy cunt from b'ham and takes longer than 3 hrs
