Kevin Smith is a songwriter based in Western Australia. We've never met in person but we have spoken on the phone many times. He's one of my favourite songwriters in this country and one of the best. I think part of what attracted me to his songs was how cinematic they were. It was like they were written by some Australian Scorsese who took up a guitar instead of a camera. Kevin suggested I do this song and I loved it as soon as I heard it. If you are ever in W.A. check out Kevin Smith and the Seven Storey Jumpers. I know when I get there it will be the first thing I do. They have a great sound.
