First look at the USA release. A little disappointing no Prima Edizione as I have #394 of 500 but the "Pop, Sport and Lounge versions are here at the LA Auto show, 11/17/10.

  • 7000 miles later, I have avg.35mpg (city/hwy) and the last road trip we went on I avg. 40mpg (hwy)...wonderful car, very solid! You do not feel smaller on the road but I think that is because I see about 20 other models i.e. mini coop, Toyota, Honda, VW, Chevy, Ford that are all as small (withinin inches) and this little car is quiet and tight! Handles like its on rails....this car has not lost the fun aspect from the first day we drove it off the lot.

  • @dragasoni I never saw the resemblance to a turtle and still don't but I have always liked turtles so maybe its a subconscious purchase...and as far as surviving from getting hit by a Yukon etc...I think the list is longer with those not faring well than those that would. Check out the crash test, excellent crunch zones and 7 air bags...much better rating than say 20 or 30 other small cars on the road, for those of us wanting to spend less at the pumps. Also 500 sold in just a few hours.

  • Are we getting the Abarth SS version?

  • @jbar07 They are projecting 2013 for Abarth. It should look like this but news is still sketchy. Current release shipping as soon as the end of Dec but no later than 4/1/11- Prima Edizione 500 models pre sold, along side that release the Pop, Sport and Lounge version will be introduced. Following will be the CC-convertible 2012 and then lastly the Abarth in 2013. More should be official either later yet today or in the next few days.

  • @dragasoni your better off in Fiat 500 than that yukon horror.

  • FIAT = Fine Italian American Transportation

  • The fiat 500 it's small but economic in fuel.

  • @dragasoni Like I said large vehicles roll over easy. Most people who die in large vehicles is because it rolled over, the roof couldn't hold the weight of the vehicle and they were crushed. Cars also have much better handling. This past winter I was driving in a snowstorm a Semi ahead of me slammed on the breaks I couldn't stop in time and easily just turned the steering wheel in my car and switched lanes at a high rate of speed. The guy in the SUV behind me flipped and ended up in the ditch.

  • @b4igetu Yup, little cars are MUCH safer! Watch this: watch?v=02eghIfyHP0

  • @MrBulletproof87 Well the biggest reason Europe doesn't have large vehicles is because they are to big for the small roads. Most of our pick-up trucks are bigger then Hummers nowadays. Can you imagine getting that through the streets of London.

  • @dragasoni People like you have this crazy assumption the bigger the safer. Bigger vehicles like the Yukon tend to have far worse safety ratings then smaller cars like this. Not to mention larger vehicles are more likely to roll over in a collision and the fact they have poor safety in rollovers makes them less safe then a small vehicle.
