Individual Responsibility - Yasir Qadhi

When you stand up, when you have a vision, when you want to be active, Allah will bless you with the path, Allah will bless you with the means, Allah will bless you with provision. But you must act. You must stand up and say: "what can I do, where is my role, what is my benefit." Brothers and sisters, do not trivialize the benefit you can do to the Ummah.

Yasir Qadhi is a lecturer and Islamic orator who has authored several books about slam. He is a popular speaker in many Muslim circles in the United States, Canada, England and Australia. He is one of the few people who has combined a traditional seminary training with western education.
He was born in Houston, Texas, USA, went onto high school in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and worked for Dow Chemical on a short stint.

He then decided to pursue an education in Islamic studies, and left for the Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia. There, he completed a second Bachelor's degree, specializing in Hadith studies, and then went onto complete MA in Technology. Presently, he is completing his Ph D in Islamic studies at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, USA.

Apart from his studies, he is an active Instructor in the Al Maghrib Institute and the Al-Kauthar Institute where he teaches theology, Seerah, Tajweed, and other topics, he gives regular Friday sermons and lectures.

He appears on a number of Islamic satellite TV channels (Peace TV worldwide, Islam Channel in England, Al-Huda Channel in Saudi Arabia and Al-Fajr Channels in Egypt).

Fees should be high enough to cause industries to SUFFICIENTLY refrain from doing these things. We will know when the fees are at an appropriate level when most people polled in a random survey say that there is not too much pollution, there is not too-rapid depletion of resources.

World democratic government

I cannot change the world myself, but if others hear of the idea and want to share it, to put it to a wider audience, then together we can create a sustainable and more just civilization.

I have an idea, shared by others, that natural resource wealth belongs to all.

We could end extreme poverty across the globe AND limit humans' impact on the environment such that rates of pollution and of taking natural resources do not exceed what most people would say is acceptable. To do this, we should charge a fee to corporations that put pollution or take natural resources. Fees must be high enough to cause industries to refrain from doing these harmful things. Proceeds go to all people.
