The lyrics and idea was thought up when on a National Express coach journey on the way from his friends' house to his oldest brother and wife, Des and Helen's house in Tiverton, Devon. I should know, I asked him >.<
Pure genius, yet more undeniable talent from Teddy there:)

A clever blend of 'One flew over the cuckoo's nest' and a 1960s Matt Monro jolly song.

Ha Ha memories
As a former National Express driver my PCV licence allowed me to drive a coach with a maximum weight of Eighteeen tons.
But sometimes you got a hostess like the song says "it is hard to get by when your arse is the size of a small country" which reduced the passenger numbers greatly.
Many a trip I done with 4 passengers and a larger than life hostess still within the legal weight.
