Every Sunday British Quakers hold a Meeting for Worship at the Occupy camp at St Paul's Cathedral. Campers, worshipers and some visiting tourists give their reactions to the protest on the eve of the court hearing through which the City of London hopes to evict them.

  • I think it is important to protest. I am not sure however if anything will really change, which I feel sad at. It is outragous, that the investment bankers created a giant Ponzi scheme, selling on wrothless bonds made of dodgy debts, for Billions, taking huge profits, and then being bailed out when it all crashed. And non of them were prosecuted, and they kept their bonuses ! Meanwhile services are slahed to pay for it all. Not good ! Unjust !

  • @ironjohnlad Change is possible. Look what happened in South Africa.

  • According to the Gospels, Jesus engaged in civil disobedience himself on several occasions.

Violence achieves nothing in the long term but what I have read about Anonymous suggests non-violent protest. I reject your interpretation of Habakkuk 1:3. In fact 2:2 could be adopted as a key text for the Occupy movement!

  • No, dear, this is not a peaceful protest, not in any way. I saw the 'anonymous' flag. That is a witchcraft group with the slogan "We do not forgive. We do not forget". In America, occupy smashed business windows in Oakland and had a march "occupy and cairo are one hand". Occupy always recommends civil disobedience, and that is so opposite of Jesus' teachings.Romans crucified Jews on a regular basis, yet Jesus healed a centurion's servant. Jesus said "render unto Ceasar that which is Ceasar's".

  • @2Habakkuk An ad hoc gathering like this is bound to attract many different groups. In the short time I was at St Pauls I saw nothing of the violence you describe. I am interested in your name - Habakkuk said many of the same sort of thinks that the Occupy movement is saying now.

  • @srekauq "Habakkuk" is an Israeli name meaning "he that embraces; a wrestler." In Habakkuk 1:3, the prophet denounces that which raises up strife and contention. This suggests he is against civil disobedience. The camp at St. Paul's is clearly flying a flag with the emblem of the group Anonymous on it. If you are in that camp, I would advise you to research whose flag that is under which you stand. If you type in "anonymous" here on youtube (why not?) you'll see behind it, I think.
