PBS Special - Celtic Woman, Songs from the Heart 2009

This was shown as a pledge drive special, and was filmed at the Powerscourt House & Gardens in Ireland.


Celtic Woman vocalists Lisa Kelly, Chloe Agnew, Lynn Hilary and Alex Sharpe, with violinist Mairead Nesbitt, perform at Ireland's historic Powerscourt House and Gardens in Enniskerry, County Wicklow in their new PBS special CELTIC WOMAN: SONGS FROM THE HEART.
The musical repertoire ranges from spirited Celtic fiddle and bodhran pieces to lush arrangements of Irish classics, contemporary covers and original compositions. In addition to the six-piece band, the Aontas Choir, a film orchestra, the Discovery Gospel Choir, the Extreme Rhythm Drummers and a bagpipe ensemble join Celtic Woman for this event.

How did "You'll Be in My Heart" make it on the PBS special, but not the DVD? Alex sings that song so beautifully and it's not on the DVD. I just can't understand why!

Thanks for uploading this big chunk from the PBS special. Like the DVD itself, the upload omits certain key songs that drastically diminishes the whole concert experience. I think the group shown was the best arrangement in terms of diversity, cohesiveness and uniqueness. I love Meav and Orla, and I continue to buy their works as they trickle to the surface.  So, any inferenceabout the earlier "members" is nothing but sympathetic. For the managers of the group, I leave a pile of fish heads.

It is also my favorite, I love this grouping, standbys Lisa, Cloe and Maeraid and the beautifully talented Alex and Lynn. I love Lisa Lambe and I'm hoping Alex will fill in for Lisa Kelly during her hopefully healthy fourth.
