You don't think I know this? No cover would ever be sung if it weren't for the original. Sometimes a cover is not as good as the original. Sometimes it's just as good. Other times, it even surpasses the original. Whichever the case may be though, it always comes down to a matter of personal taste and opinion. What I am saying is that I love both the original for the Cure as well as Tori's cover, but I even have a slight preference for Tori's interpretation.

I love Tori Amos! I love the Cure. I have 4 versions of this song by Tori, The Cure, and 311! I can't get enough!
You are totally entitled to your opinion, but it's interesting how tastes can differ so vastly, because while I love the original from The Cure, I love Tori's version even better. I find it gives it more layering. Has a sense of longing that The Cure's version doesn't quite convey as much.

This is a different set of emotions. More fragility than longing, more blank loss than pain.
The Cure version is a classic, and can never be replaced, but many of the covers have merit ... this being my favorite cover.
