@krustyburger66 ...
I STILL have the 45!!

We used to sing the chorus in the car on family trips. This along with Monster Mash, Itty Bitty String Bakini, and One Eyed Purple People Eater. THANKS for the memories!

The artist is Daddy Dewdrop, not Dr Demento. The song came out in 1971 and was written by Dick Monda (who called himself Daddy Dewdrop) for the "Sabrina and the Groovy Ghoulies" cartoon.

Brings back a lot of AM radio memories :-)

@asiafire64 this one's been on doctor Demento alright, but Asia fire is EXACTLY right! the first time I heard this was on the groovy ghoulies in about '72 or so, In fact it brings to mind the image of their "Frankenstein monster" singing it. That, And (get the "old folks" branding iron hot) Is it just me or does the band "Wet Willy" (Keep on smiling) sounds like fat Albert and the Cosby kids?!

ROFLMAO at the scowly-face "Don' cha jus' luv it" guy!

I had the 45 as a kid! Can't recall the flipside though. Been 30 years since I last heard this. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane.
