Rachel improvises on Blue in Green, credited to Miles on Kind of Blue, but later co-credited with Bill Evans. One of the most beautiful jazz ballads ever written, and so interesting to hear what each pianist brings to it. Rachel's been studying classical piano for 6 years, but jazz for just one. A nice counterpoint to her swinging flute. Check out her CD with Ron Carter on CDbaby.com or ITunes and this article on jazzwax.com:

Enjoy.

  • damn good for a non-pianist. i just taught myself blue in green on guitar and struggling to be able to improvise freely. and yeah, i'm pretty sure bill evans wrote this, and miles just sorta took credit.
