On Mon, Feb. 11, 2008, Ron Paul's Finance Director Jonathan Bydlak and Internet Director Justine Lam spoke to GWU's Internet & Politics class about online fundraising.

In this video Bydlak describes one moment of tension between Ron Paul staff and supporters -- resulting in a supporter calling him an idiot in the L.A. Times (but also resulting in the campaign raising a lot of money).

  • do it feel get used by ron paul...

    he used all you people....

  • shitty audio cant hear a thing!!

    re post this

  • I'm with you on that. Right now, it's a case of batten down the hatches, personally, and ensuring that loved ones are prepped, and spreading the message far and wide. The more people woken up, the easier the landing will be.

  • Problem is that Jon is misleading people on THAT as well -- the "idea" did not just come out of nowhere, but rather Jon received a severe phone tongue lashing in mid-Sept (after his "fundraising update" email) and told him to get a clue; drilling him on goals, thermometers, donor name recognition etc -- ALL STANDARD FUND-RAISING PRACTICES. (At that point in time, Jon's main concept of "fund-raising" was to call up previous donors and "whine" -- echoed in his later emails).

  • Actually now that we have the 4th Qtr financial reports from the campaign, we know that Jon's statement in the "notorious" email was a complete fabrication because as of that date, the campaign still had OVER $5 MILLION dollars on hand. So what the email was more of an attempt to reassert his own ego and position regarding fundraising (doubtless the kudos being laid on the "Trevor" guy by the media was an ego blow to Jon personally AND made him the butt of jokes around the water cooler.)

  • I've been with Ron Paul since Sept. when I first starting noticing how many calls came in about him on C-SPAN Washington Journal show. I found his message something I had been trying to warn people around me about for a long, long time. So, it's been about the message for me from the beginning. At moments I thought there might be a chance for his winning but that wasn't why I keep pushing, it's to alert more and more people of the danger facing our nation.

  • The only thing I could hear was that Ron paul fundrasing has been fantastic. Nothing we already did not know. sso lets get excited. Check out Kenny Wallace on U-tube. He is a Daytona 500 race driver who has endorsed Ron paul. Why should we ccare if Ron paul supporters disagree, or call each other idiot or whatever?

  • i think we all agree, especially those of us who have been on the train since at least summer.... it was clear he just wanted to spread a message, not win... it was never geared that way...

but honestly, who expected any of this? Who knew our generation would have a role model with character, resolve, and enlightenment...

    this milenia's MLK

  • Jesus, $20 Million for noobs, WTF was Dr Paul Thinking. One of the best politicians ever supported by a bunch of kids. It's time to bring in the a-team, lets get G Edward Griffins and Alex Jones into the campaign and set this campaign on fire...

  • What language are these people speaking? Really bad audio.
