@deejaybee Yup you are correct. I got confused with the Studio Birch Demo we did. This demo had the pillow in the kick and we also used a Remo Powersonic on the batter side with the "pad" attached

@SabaturProAudio "No real muffling on the kick"? Um, really? I'm not usually one for splitting hairs, but unless i TOTALLY need an eye test - that's something looking awfully like a pillow inside the bass drum at 055 and 1.34, isn't it?

@atedj if you are talking about bass drum portholes, there is a video on youtube somewhere which shows how to "burn" a hole into your bass drum using a can. this technique is more useful than using a knife, as the edge is not sharp and is more "round. give it a try, and i hope this helps.

@ SabaturProAudio Aye! Cool...but im not really sure cutting my resonant head with a sharp knife LOL...i was wondering what position was that port hole in this video? and what size should it be cut.
Aye yo! i was wondering how did you put a port hole on the bass drum? any ideas where the best area to put one?

@atedj basically I just laid the head on the ground and using an extremely sharp utility knife cut around a coffee can lol... as far as position... I usually like the hole around the 4 or 8 o'clock position
