Anti-piracy operations off the Somalia coast - 11 Oct 08

As the number of ship hijackings off the coast of Somalia increases, authorities in the northern region of Puntland are under pressure to act.

The threat to shipping in the Gulf of Aden has prompted the international community to send warships to the region.

Al Jazeera's Mohammad Adow, reporting from Bosasso, says such back-up is sorely needed by the Puntland authorities.
