  • Once again we are thinking along the same lines. I was just out in the garage experimenting with trying to figure out how to make my own shot with poor results. I googled lead shot making and your video came up, how ironic. The price of lead shot has gone sky high and I'm sick of buying high priced factory shells, so I wanted to make my own shot. I'll be keeping an eye on your results. There has got to be a simple way to do this and I'll keep searching till I find it. Good Luck, keep me informed

  • @mohunter68 I really have to circle back to this project. I did revise my design recently and it worked much better than this one. The new design is much shorter. Just a piece of angle iron that I polished. Im having a hard time regulating the heat and the lead kinda sticks to the edge of the ramp so Im still getting teardrops. At least its not popcorn shot anymore. Ill try to make a video on it soon.

  • This looks like a great idea, and Sun Laundry detergent will give you more consistent sizes. Post a video of it in action. Well done, thanks.

  • @bcoverss Thanks man. I should pull it out off the back burner. Its been sittin back there for a while now. I see what I can do about improving it and making an action video.

  • Thanks for the suggestion.I have heard of that too. Also some people use straight laundry soap! Thanks for the channel complement.

  • Try using straight liquid dish soap. The dish soap is thick allowing the shot to be suspended longer allowing it to cool enough before hitting the bottom so it doesnt distort. My neighbor who shoots alot of trap makes probably 2 to 3 hundred pounds of shot every year this way.

  • how about make one for your big smelting pot? i have seen people using diesel for the fluid!!! great channel by the way!!!!!! cory

  • @spinesales
