Suppose they got to make it as expensive as possible to live here and get by, otherwise more people would be leaving and going back home to where they came from.

This one takes the cake:
AN AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT IS TAXING RAINWATER THAT FARMERS ARE COLLECTING IN THEIR DAMS !!!

Fruit and Vegetable farmers are already paying top dollar for their irrigation water, yes if Government provides infrastructure to supply irrigation water, then it stands to reason that they might pass on the cost of providing this to either the farmers or the community (or both) by way of taxes or water charges, but TAXING RAINWATER ????

I've said it again and I will say it again: THIS IS A STUPID COUNTRY FULL OF STUPID PEOPLE. Stupid people because it's them who vote these Governments into power, and then re-elect them despite broken promises, lies and more broken promises.

Suppose there's some logic in implementing tax policy such as this: Fruit and Vegetables are the basis of a healthy diet. Gotta make sure everything that's healthy and good for you is taxed to the hilt, after all this country has a reputation to protect: Fattest nation on the planet. $5 for a head of Iceberg lettuce. $3.98/kg for oranges. Eagle Boys pizza, pick up large pizzas for $5.95 - go figure!

They want to control water, food air, land, everything we own and especially our freedoms. IN the US. - CONGRESS has just passed a Bill that will make it illegal for US citizens to GROW their own food. NO SHIT!!
