It doesn't matter if you're in church, in your backyard, in Disneyland.Disorderly conduct is justification for being arrested.

Why make a police officers day harder?Professor Gates(big title woo hoo) lost his cool & made what could have been an easy situatoin to resolve to escalate to his arrest.

The police are damned if they do and damed if they don't.How'd you like their job?Then there's Obama.What an idiot.

Gates is responsible for his conduct.Crowley acted within his authority.

The guy should have stayed in his home. He should have left the cop leave in peace.

The trouble came when he went outside for the express purpose of humiliating that cop by screaming false charges of abuse and racism.

Like most people who have trouble with the police, this guy brought it on himself.

People who can't accept the fact that authority exists are like people walking into walls then screaming in astonished rage when their head breaks before the wall does...

Police may use a disorderly conduct charge to keep the peace when a person is behaving in a disruptive manner, but presents no serious public danger." The man was in his home. I don't disagree about pulling the race card. You can't be disorderly in your home. It's a public offense.

Pretending that Gates was abused is a false accusation. He wasn't abused, and his arrest was well within the law. Crying wolf doesn't help ppl who really are abused by police.

You might want to read what the actual text of the law "disorderly conduct" is.

Laws forbidding disorderly conduct or disturbing the peace are perfectly legal. If the majority in a given township vote for such a law, and you decide to be an ass like Gates, you are breaking a law.

It doesn't matter if he was screaming. You have to understand what rights and privileges are. The People have all the rights and government has privileges. We have been conditioned to let go of our rights and to believe that we are the one's with privileges. It's not about race, don't get stuck on race. Gates is using race, please let it go because the media is feeding into that and using it. Unfortunately it's working.
