There is often infection which can be difficult to conquer, leaving many battling painful infections for the rest of their lives. These girls will still be expected to marry and carry out their wifely duties in the marital bed. The act of sex will be extremely painful for them for a long while, some for their entire lives.  BTW, I refused to have my son circumcised.

You're very wrong there. Very, very wrong. Boys usually lose their foreskin only, which does not interfere with sexual pleasure and would be no more painful than any cut. Girls not only have their clitoris removed (think about having a nipple cut off) but their labia is usually cut in order to sew both sides together to reduce the size of the vaginal opening.
