What a bad spokesperson for God this Fred Phelps person is. But it's their right, so they must be allowed to speak.
Now, what the media could do about this is leave them be, DO NOT bring this kind of filth to the forefront. It's just so typical of the media, they introduce cases like these into public debate, and then append the idea that we might need to limit free speech in some way. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but don't they seem to be working against the constitution here?

its fucked, up, i totally agree with what this guy has to say...i hate fred with every fiber of my being, he is one of the worlds biggest, shittiest assholes! he never has anything good to say about anyone but himself and his cult family...but john is right...BUT one thing...is for anyone whos sole purpose in a movement to get rights taken away...should they be treated the same? i mean they really ABUSE the first amendment, and if they hate america, they have enough to GTFO...i wish i did...
