Ratt are a better band than people give them credit for.

I'd say Ratt were superior to the entirety of the L.A. metal scene (with the exception of Van Halen of course), beating the likes of Poison and Warrant as well as besting the likes of Motley Crue and W.A.S.P.

@JosephKuby well, 80s metal was primarily guitar driven. rhythm sections didn't have much to do. back in the day bass players were more songwriters than technicians. as the years have gone by. the rythm sections have gotten progressively better. much better infact. and on the other hand general lead guitar standards have dropped to the point where the guitar has now become a percussive instrument.. apart from a few exceptions, guitar playing nowdays is a one or two note make-and-chug routine

@JosephKuby but hey Warrant were actually really really good, like technically on the guitar Joey allen was really great and Jani Lane was such an amazing talent live, with such great stage presence. But I do agree Ratt was the best. I personally like them more than Van Halen, but that's just me though
