Generous doses of newsreel footage highlight this British wartime drama. Tom (Brin Stirner) is a typical 18-year-old Briton who goes into military service early in 1944. The film follows the protagonist through the rigors of training and the shock of his first battle. Tom is killed on D-Day--hence the film's title, an allusion to "Operation Ovrlrd.

I was 8 years old and I was waiting on this film to be play on TV,it was late on a saturday night and I fall to sleep and missed the film,my brother happened to watched it and the following day,he told me about it,now 31 years later I find it again,this time I'm not falling to sleep.
