  • Kim almost had this match won. That's what makes this even a bit more tragic... this counterfactual thinking where you can say, "What would've happened if Mancini had quit when he was considering it?" Who knows? Kim was badly done up by the 14th, but there's no doubt in my mind that what truly did him in was not the hook at 6'26" but hitting the canvas so hard at 6'27". Anyone who thinks this is funny or in any way slurs Kim is an asshole; Kim had tremendous desire and was a great boxer.

  • We've seen what can happen to a Boxer when he steps in the MMA ring but I'm still waiting for that MMA fighter to get in the Boxing ring & not be able to fight below the waist.

  • @sc0ner can't disagree with much that you say, however, kim's face was

sushi prior to the final round, and i am sure he had bilateral orbital fractures

along with cerebreal swelling-dead man walking and a tough way to make a

living, glad i quit when i did

  • boom boom had kick Pacquiao's ass

  • They made a movie about Deuk-gu Kim in 2002 called Champion.

  • They should make a movie about this incident

  • This is the fight that killed 15 round fights. WBC ended it right after this fight, the WBA in 88 and the IBF in 89. It was an overreaction to the events-no one had died in the ring in Nevada in 50 years. They should have at least made the limit 13 rounds to kill tiebreakers in 10 pt must system.

  • These Asians will fight long after the inevitable outcome becomes apparent. That is the spirit of a true warrior. To tell you the truth, they take it so far, that they get killed before they give up. Like that Japanese soldier lost on island that still thought WWII hadn't ended 30 years after. Never give up.
