My Best Friend - A Nick Jonas Love Story - Chapter 64

[Percy's POV] Saturday afternoon

"Dude, just pick something," my best friend TJ said, as I looked through all my clothes to find some appropriate for my date with MacKenzie. There was a nock on my bedroom door, and my sister Bethany entered with a smile.
"Perce, not that combo, it's not good," she shook her head making her blonde curls fly around. "Nick's here." She said with a slight smile in her green eyes.
"Thanks, send him up," she nodded, and went to talk to tell him to come. I hadn't told TJ, Nick was coming, and he wasn't going to be happy. He didn't like Nick very much because of Alex. TJ was in love with her, and so was Nick. It's hard when two of your best friends is in love with the same person. Yes, Nick is one of my best friends. He's begun to hang out with the rest of us a lot, and that's good. I like having him around, and I apologized for being such an ass to him, and to Alex as well.
"You invited Nick?" TJ asked with his jaw laying on the floor. He couldn't believe what just happened, he was going to hate me more than ever.
"Look, I know you don't like him but he's my friend. If you want Alex you have to get along with him, they're best friends, live with it, dude." I had just managed to finish my sentence before Nick entered the room. He smiled when he saw us, he was holding something on his back, and I didn't know what on earth it was. I had absolutely no idea.
"Dude, your sister's pretty!" He said, I rolled my eyes at him.
"Bethany's a freshman, stay away," I warned, and laughed when he made a face. "Thanks for coming. I'm really nervous." I said, pulling a new combination of clothes out of my closet, somehow I felt like a girl. I had tried so many different sets of clothes, and nothing felt quite right. I had told MacKenzie to dress formal but I just didn't have anything that was formal, and I really didn't want to rent a suit. TJ didn't have one, and I didn't want to ask Nick.
"Dude, didn't you tell Kenz formal?" I looked at him in surprise.
"How'd you know?"
"Alex told me, I dropped her off at Kenz' place before I came here," he explained, and by every word he made me panic even more.
"Okay. I told her to dress formal but the truth is I don't have a suit or a tux, and I didn't have time to rent one! Do you have one that fits me? Please, Nick?" I begged helplessly.
"Alex also told me you didn't own anything formal, therefore I brought you a suit to borrow. To be on the safe side it's black."
"Dude, how many do you even have?"
"Trust me, you don't wanna know," he said, and handed me the thing he was holding on his back. It was a white bag for suits, I opened the zipper.
"Didn't you wear this to the formal with Alex?" I asked raising an eyebrow at him.
"Yeah, it's good with anything Kenz would possibly wear," he explained making me smile gratefully at him. I thanked him many times, and went to the bathroom to try it on. When I had slipped into the perfectly fitting suit, I studied myself in the big mirror in the bathroom. I had never looked so... exclusive in my entire life, like I would fit right in with Kenz' mother, and stepfather. They were both lawyers, very prestigious lawyers. I hope they'd approve me, that's all I wanted, to be accepted by the girl of my dreams' parents -- well mostly her mother. As I walked back to my room I bumped into Bethany in the hall, when we had laughed the whole thing off, she looked at me, and her jaw dropped.
"Perce, where did you get that from?"
"It's Nicks, he let me borrow it," I looked down myself, and up at my younger sister again.
"Well, you look very handsome, MacKenzie is a lucky girl," she patted my shoulder, and walked into her room.
