San Bernardino, Calif. - Four-time defending national champion Concordia-St. Paul (33-2) defeated No. 2 University of Tampa (33-2) 3-1 in the NCAA Division II National Volleyball Semifinals. The No. 3 Golden Bears won the match (23-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-13) and will advance to their fifth straight national championship match on Satuday at 9:00 p.m. (CST) against the winner of the #8 Hillsdale / #1 CSU San Bernardino match.
Kayla Koenocke hit .652 in the match (15K-0E-23TA) to lead the Golden Bear attack. Ashley Murtha hit .343 (14K-2E-35TA) with senior Megan Carlson hit .324 (15K-3E-37TA) to lead the Golden Bears to a .371 team hitting percentage (64K-11E-143TA). Tampa hit .144 as a team (50K-26E-167TA).
The Golden Bears have now won their last 29 straight NCAA National Tournament matches dating back to the 2007 season.
