What happens if you choose not to use Great Seal on Nyx at 4:48?

When do they give you that choice?

They give you that choice a couple times, indirectly. It's called 'the bad ending'.

Why couldn't they just let you not attack at all at 4:48 rather than make it a scripted battle? They should have let you choose to either kill Nyx or let her kill you.

So this happened right after you defeated Nyx. It seems like a different part of the game.
