Elizabeth Taylor - Nicky Hilton - by Richard Bassett

In 1950, Dame Elizabeth Taylor met the man of her dreams. He was Nicholas Conrad Hilton, heir to the Hilton multi-million dollar hotel fortune. To Elizabeth, her idea of marriage was a little red apron living in a house with a white picket fence. She was 18 and a virgin when she married Nicky. Two weeks into their three month European honeymoon, Nicky started to drink, gamble, and physically abuse Elizabeth. She was lost. She was desolate. She had come right from her parent's home into this life of torture. To Nicky, he lashed out at reporters following them everywhere, without a moment's peace. He later commented that it was like living life in a fishbowl. It became increasingly harder for Elizabeth to hide her physical abuse. She lost weight, started to smoke cigarettes, burst into tears, faint, and developed an ulcer and was put on a diet of baby food. Ironically, when a kick in the stomach caused a miscarriage, Elizabeth had had enough. She said, "I wasn't put on this Earth to have a baby kicked out of my stomach". They divorced eight months after their fairy tale wedding. Perhaps this experience of such mental/verbal/physical pain led Elizabeth to empathize with the emotional pain one had to live with having AIDS. As a sum total of life experiences, Elizabeth grew compassionate as she visited hospice after hospice, hearing one story after another about AIDS patients being ostracized from society. Sometimes, i feel sorry for women ,in general all that they have to cope with: miscarriages, abortion, physical abuse (i was mysef raped)...

I just read a bio about Liz : poor girl : stolen childhood, health pbs her whole life : brain cancer.... Lots of celebs lead a crappy life ! No wonder, she defended MJ !

Hilton was very handsome. As for Elizabeth Taylor, she was a cheap slut who got married every year. I really cannot stand people who have no understanding of what friendship, loyalty or love means.

i never seen a lot of this footage before she was so beautiful and to think shes till alive 60 years after this footage is remarkable what a life shes led and Nicky was very handsome even though now we know he wasn't much of a nice man zsa zsa gabor had an affair with him which was her step son

In addition to my previous statement about Nicky Hilton's outrageous abuse to his former first wife, Elizabeth Taylor, I am beyond horrified that Nick actually kicked Elizabeth in her stomach when she was pregnant with his baby and the kick made her miscarry that baby!!!! What was wrong with him? Spoiled rotten right? Please oh please, tell me he did serious jail time for his crimes to Elizabeth and the murder of her unborn baby. That is beyond sick.
