This is done on a spinny x-pole. For static poles, same instructions apply, but you need to swing the leg back fast into the stag. The front leg will probably be a little further from the pole which is fine. You won't spin as long but it can be done. Same thing for the swoop to back hook, swing the leg and bring it in quickly for more momentum.

TIPS:
- For the Swoop, lean away from the pole and keep your arms straight as you step around.
- so dance on tippy toes (if you're not wearing heels) which will make it a lot easier to pivot. It's hard to pivot when feet are flat on the ground

Make sure you warm up first.

Note: Pole dancing, like other forms of sport or physical activity, involves risk of injury. I'll try my best to provide the best advice and information to minimise these risks, however, this responsibility is ultimately yours. Take care, and don't over push yourself. Always start from the bottom and work your way up. DO NOT attempt a move that you are not ready for.

  • your pole is spinny but mine is static, would you put some videos with static poles, and ur videos are very useful, thanks

  • @camcod22 Watch vid #5, it has the moves in vid 1,2,3,4 on static. All the videos after that have the moves on spinny and static

  • wondering if you have any tips on the v-sit (some people call it the eye opener)? I can climb and stay in a sit, and after I get my hand under my butt I start to move a little to the side (rotating slightly,) which makes it impossible to get my legs open. Any suggestions?

  • @rkken2009

mmm, this requires a bit of wrist strength of the bottom hand. You shouldn't be rotating to the side. Try doing it from a plank ie lower torso down to an almost horizontal position and legs straight and crossed. Then place the bottom hand under the bum. If your bum is not right agains the pole that might cause so problems, so doing it from a plank might help with that.

OR just make sure to lean back first with upper arm straight. let me know how you go

  • This is a great tutorial, thanks:)

  • @rkken2009 Glad you like it :)

  • @soccer13109 Is your pole a spinning or non-spinning pole? I'm using a spinning pole. Please read video description

  • how do you get so much momentum? because i can only spin around like one time and im already towards the ground or cant spin anymore and get stuck and thats what im having the biggest problem with.

  • I love doing the back stag but I think it looks a lot better in split grip.

  • Oh my you do it sooo easily! I just finished my 3rd pole dancing class and we have to do this move in 5 weeks! i dont know how im going to do it
