HELP! i need the title/artist of this avant-garde instrumental mystery song!

UPDATE: as of 11/10/09, this mystery is solved (thanks to youtube user sortashaman!). all three songs are by David Van Tieghem: 1. flying hearts, 2. they drive by night, 3. strange cargo. each song is off of the "strange cargo" album. THANK YOU AGAIN, and boo to everyone who insisted it was just silly filler music between radio shows! :)

i taped this song off of the radio in...oh, 2nd grade? somewhere around 1991-1992. anyway, that was seventeen years ago....and i STILL do not know the name and/or artist of this song. (or song[s]? i can't tell if it's one really LONG song, or three songs played back to back.) HELP! what IS this song!? ANY helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.

I've been checking in every couple of months regarding these songs. I'm very glad to hear the mystery has been solved!

I suggested 1983-85 and British, but the recording is 1989 and American, so unfortunately I wasn't much help ...

I LOVE Flying Hearts. I grew up on this type of music. Someone else uploaded that song in full, and had some weird, but cool, kaleidoscope pattern going with it. But he took it down or deleted his account. I wish someone would upload the ENTIRE song again. I don't know how.

@sartana66 Actually, see my update above -- a Youtube user solved this mystery for me last year. It's from 1989 and it's not a mix. It's a series of songs -- all in a row -- off of David Van Tieghem's album called Strange Cargo.

Peter White has a song Drive By Night. DVT might be considered New Age Jazz. It was on the Charlotte NC WFAE radio during the time you listed.
