A video apology to all Hobo fans out there, quite clearily you're superior!

Part 2 of a long rant that starts off with 'Run With Us',the ending theme and one of the trademark songs of The Raccoons, being used in the adult film 'Hobo With A Shotgun' and how I believe Kevin Gillis isen't doing enough for the hardcore Raccoon Fans out there!

Hobo With A Shotgun is owned by Alliance Films and Magnet Releasing.

I just downloaded it from the net to watch it that's all I could do, The DVD boxset haven't been released here so it's the only choice I had, I don't think that Kevin really knows how big it still is, Hell, If they brought out a new series i'd buy/watch it but it'll never beat the original, Without the original cast it really wouldn't be the same.

I say that he should get backing for the Movie just for the fanbase alone would be worth it.

@KitCloudkickerUK If you live in the UK (acording to your username) you could actually buy the boxsets of Seasons 1 and 2 as they are avaliable here in the UK, especially from online retailers. As for the movie, chances of that being made are now nil, word is that Gillis has sold out everything, including all the Raccoons rights to an unknown buyer, whom of which is sadily unknown.

@SRPC21 Not really! I know of a few people who also did not approve of Gillis selling out, heshouldn't have to stoop as low as he did if he wanted to generate more interest in his own show. There was supposed to be an upcoming Raccoons movie, now granted I had my concerns about the movie, however I would have prefered that over the option that he decided in the end.

@David315842 I think it's in the eye of the beholder about whether he sold out or not by re-releasing the song for Hobo.

Personally I admire him for it, as it made a lot of people remember the racoons again. I understand that you want him to release more of the series & merchandise, personally I think releasing the song for the film has generated the interest and is more likely than ever before.

Just one thing, if that does happen as a result, would you be thankful to Hobo?

@SRPC21 NO! I'm not saying that! Also, I don't care about having a following, you might, but I don't! Just so we're damn clear on that and the ever growing number of people who don't care on YouTube is why I show my offense side! All I'm saying is, if Gillis didn't want a fan following, he shouldn't have made the specials or the show to begin with! But he has, and he did a great job, so it's a damn shame that he sold out everything, including Skywriter Media for cash! A real DAMN shame indeed!

@David315842 So you're saying you wish he never created the racoons in the first place? You don't have to agree with him but don't criticise him for doing what he wants with his stuff.

Perhaps you had a following on youtube before you started to swear in your videos. You, like Kevin Gillis have every right to say "if you don't like it then leave it"

@SRPC21 Then that just probves that he's a moron, who shouldn't bother creating something that will eventually have a fan following and then dissapointing said fan following, clearily he knew and wanted that back in the day, now he's a money grabber and nothing but one! Sad really, BTW congrats on getting his name wrong! :D

I don't think you should be criticising David Gillis for the fact that he gave you free TV. He made the show so he can do what he wants with it, he doesn't 'owe' the fans anything.

@PIFMan092 Yeah, fair comment. But I was on the promotions team for this song and The Raccoons tv show back in 1988. I am acquainted with a lot of the people who worked on The Raccoons, including Lisa Lougheed - and I am still in touch with them. Everything depicted in Hobo goes directly against the principles set out for the original tv series, which was about a peaceful existence and caring for the environment. I am no prude, but this song is out of place here. Kevin Gillis has sold out.
