Well it's new in the sense that a lot of people in the Republican party believe in the phony policy but they aren't real Conservatives. They believe in big entitlements, big deficits, pre-emptive wars and intervention into foreign affaris constantly. They aren't traditional conservatives in the Republican party like say a Goldwater or Taft who walk the walk.
