This is a video of me playing the Apogee Software MS-DOS game Raptor: Call of the Shadows on Elite difficulty using the exact same loadout that is used by the computer in Demo Mode. The computer's loadout consists of the following:

1 MG21C Reaver Twin Machine Guns
100 Shields
1 Ion Scanner
1 CBU-80 Guillotine Megabomb
1 AIM-31 Mauler Air/Air Missile
1 Micro Missile
1 TH19 Thor Auto-Track Mini Gun
1 OD55 Odin Laser Turret
1 MSIL-ATLAS Deathray

This is the original file as recorded by me in DOSBox v0.72 on Mac OS X 10.5.6.

I once stated, in a video uploaded by TigerRaptorFX, that Wave 6 of Bravo Sector is the hardest level in the whole of Bravo Sector, and I needed at least two full shield bars to complete it. He, however, did it on Veteran difficulty with basic equipment, losing only about 85 shields in the process, so let's see how I'll fare on Elite difficulty.

    Thanks.

It's a little below my expectations, though. I was hoping to keep my shields above 75 for this entire wave, but because of a few small mistakes and especially because I hit the front part of the train at 2:46, I ended this level with 69 shields remaining.

  • Maybe it's just me but I find it very easy to avoid getting hit in most of the levels, I mostly take damage when I'm going out of my way to hit as many targets as possible.

It is easy, once you memorise where the ships come from. The problem is, I always try to maximise the amount of damage I can do in every level, so I tend to get hit quite a bit more often.

Mind you, RainHNg is so good at dodging, he can complete the final wave of Outer Regions with no Phase Shields at all. On Elite difficulty.

  • @HeliosExeunt I usually just spam the keeping your weapons exploit until I can afford the more powerful weapons, I would always go for the tracker minigun in shareware.

  • @MetroidJunkie2007

I used to do that too, until I got bored and decided to just hold down Backspace. After a while, I got bored of that too, so I decided to try playing Bravo Sector with the exact same loadout as the computer's. I've no guts to take on Tango Sector or Outer Regions on Elite difficulty with only one Phase Shield.

I didn't use it simply because the computer doesn't use it during the demo of Bravo Sector.

  • why didnt you use the twin laser beam ?
