Strange connection problems with Left 4 Dead

A video primarily for Valve's technical support staff about some problems I have playing Left 4 Dead. Not of much interest to anyone else I expect but if anyone has any similar issues or knows a way of fixing it please let me know, I have no idea where to begin diagnosing this. Apologies for the poor video quality but hopefully you get the idea.

I have a similar problem that just started recently. When doing quick match or selecting a level from the "play online" game list, it will say "Establishing Connection to games" and then just sit there forever. After that, it will put me in an empty lobby. I can't join other people's games and they can't join mine. Even if a friend invites me to his game and I accept, it will still say "establishing connection" before kicking me out.

I don't know how to fix it.

Me neither but Valve's support team is actually pretty good so if you contact them they'll probably help.

since this is 5 months old have you found a fix for it?

and does single player work fine for you?

Well, I haven't had any similar problems for a while. My guess is that a patch fixed it since I didn't do anything.

In the console, type 'openserverbrowser' so you get the standard server thing, and try joining one of them, That tends to fix any problems I get.

Guys Every one (there is "Steam.appid.txt " is in your Left 4 dead folder (Installed). Delete it And Enjoy :) Thumbs Up :)

I have the smae problem, but with mine when the bar gets to the end on the loading screen my l4d just crashes, like it automaticlly exits out of the game!!! This goes with singleplayer for me aswell!! i have brought l4d on steam, but it crashes! :( plz help me!

your lucky you get that far.

I can only play for about 4 seconds before the whole game freezes and I have to shut down the computer.

That and gmod wont show the props for the game.
