hi brian. thanks for your help. i like the vids. i have trouble returning long fast top spin BH serve from a pen holder. or,the same only with back spin. sometimes they look the same to me.can you possibly show(advice) on a good simple return(including a description on how to see the difference between both of the spins) thanks

I'm not really clear on the difference between ability and skill-based development. In your video it sounds like your saying that if you don't have the genes to be able to fh loop and drive, as well as use footwork and underspin, you won't be able to do them. On the left side, it seemed like you were trying to say they were skills that could be improved through practice. Is this the wrong interpretation?

finally a new video!
I respect you as a human. I respect you as a player. I enjoy most of your videos. But this time I was less then impressed. Go ahead, delete my post and block me. At least I have the balls (not three stars balls!) to voice my oppinion unlike many brown nosers who left you positive comments. This video is highly subjective and not scientificaly sound. A complete farce. I know loopers that are below 1500 and long pips players who don't loop that are above 2000. Give me a break!!!

Thanks for your opinion. I wish I could say that there was an exact science, but table tennis has too many added variables which makes it impossible. What this video does is "TRY" to help a person look at their entire game and rate certain shots based on skill development or god giving ability. Noone gets blocked or a post delete if they make a simple comment. I am willing to have a intelligent debate if it is without insults. Insults or profanity is how to get deleted.

@sitonmyfacenfart Excuse me if my interpretation is wrong, but I thought that the idea behind this episode was to give each of us an example of a system that can help us evaluate our skill level, technique, and style as table tennis players. In other words, I drew my technical property line at about 1650, and when I positioned each aspect of my game on the grid, it really differed from the video to a significant degree. Example: I placed my defense above footwork, serve return, and underspin.

@ImprovinMyGame The goal is for you to use this system to carefully place each skill at it's respected level. It does NOT and should NOT look like the example chart that I put up. That is a chart of one of my clients. The goal is for you to have the awareness of what your skills are, that way you understand what skills need to be worked on first. That is how you can prioritize elevate your skill level.

Hi Brian,
Firstly, thanks so much for posting these kinds of videos. You're one of the first sources I check for tips to improve my game.
I was wondering if you could address footwork. What are some game tips, training advice, or exercises that can help a 1500-2000 level player like myself improve? I think my problem in particular is setting myself up to more effectively take advantage of an opponent's slow- to medium-speed or poorly-placed return.
Thanks much,
Jonathan

@ImprovinMyGame Hey Jonathan. I have 5 more episodes, and all those aspects will be addressed the things you wrote on. I will put out a new video when the current video gets to 1000 Hits. Take Care, and good luck with your training and improvement
