Thanks. Yes, This piece was originally written for the Lute. Robert Johnson wrote many pieces for that instrument. He was well known and regarded as a leading Lute player and composer. If you go to Wikipedia and enter Robert Johnson lute player you will get a brief biography of him and a list of some of his compositions.

Beautifully and sensitively played. Many guitarists play this piece too fast. The allemande was a dance with a moderate tempo, rather stately.
