They should close it. It's a huge waste of money and resource. Trail would be way better. They want it open so a bunch of them can play railroad on the weekends. I was there this past summer and they got the worst bunch of losers ever. Some blond as engineer and some clown trying to pretend he knows what he's doing. I worked pro railroad and this guy should be banned from the yard entirely. Get rid of it.

Can you believe people are talking about tearing up the rails and making it into a bike path. It's rediculus, people have no respect for the vehicles that built this nation!

i'm a volunteer on that particular line and i love it, now we're trying to get saranac to tupper lake approved for passenger service

This is July 2010 and just about every night people are turned away from buying space on the only train to Chicago train via NYC route.. The Westbound Lake Shore Limited. With that in mind, it would be great to get the Lake Placid to Chicago sleeper back! The most popular space on the train is always sold out. The three sleepers!

Finally someone who gets the point of keep the line open and Running with Trains!!! YES I know! its so sad, they don't even get that those Rails brought everything into those towns to make them what they are today!!!! The Railroad was and still is VERY IMPORTANT!
