Try Evans EC2 as batter head, and G1 clear as resonans head.. They got lots of punch and depth..

HI Steve,
Well thats hard to say. It can depend on so many factors. I have used Yamahas, Pearl, DW's, Remos etc..
I have been very pleased with my DW's which I have had since 2001 and continue to love. However I know that for those without endorsments etc they can cost a lot. I've always found Yamaha's to be generally great value and easy to tune. You will need to spend around £1500 on shells alone to get a really nice one. But the stage customs are great mid price budget kits.
Cheers
Matt
