I love the fact that Slumdog portrays India's poverty as it is. But, I have a big problem with the two villains Mammen and Punnoose. Mamen is the malayali word for "uncle" and Punnoose is a regular Syrian-Christian name hailing from South India. In the movie, both Mamen and Punnoose bear no likeness to a South Indian or a malayali. This tells us how much research Danny Boyle did before making the film. What Boyle did would be equal to naming a white character in a hollywood film as Hu Jin Tao
I admire the accolocades received for slumdog millionaire. I wish that it wins not one but all nominations.Best of luck to all the crew and specially to All Indian Favorite..
that is what I thought. I bet this guy has never stepped out of his country. people who have seen very little of the world and know squat about other countries should not be making statements like these.
I agree with you man, brilliant movie. I was born in india all the way till high school. I just cant believe Danny Boyle was able to portray india in its true sense, even though he has never been there before. Beautiful movie...
