Yeah, but SUVS weren't selling in cities where most of the population resides. The only people who really wanted SUVS badly were hicks in the midwest and southeast, who wanted to buy "a powerful American Car...Like a Rock." Then Honda and Toyota tried to compete and they took some of the market and dominated the minivan and sedan market. That is what killed GM and Ford is in trouble. Bill is completely lying about that. They are one oil price spike away from bankruptcy.

Hill has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. Business and the private sector always rebound given enough time and they can do so without massive government aid. Government spending made the Great Depression more severe and lengthened it. If the government keeps spending at its present rate we will have another depression or at best a Japan-style "lost decade" of economic stagnation possibly with rampant inflation.

The Great Depression is still being debated among economists. Many people beleive that it was the boom and bust cycle inherent in a capitalist economy that caused the depression. Capitalism, especially Lassaiz Faire, has many great flaws. Others will argue that it was the FED in 1913, but truthfully, this country hasn't had capitalism since it owned slaves. That's just the straight up truth.

Marc Lamont Hill is totally clueless. He just sits there and says
that if the people at the bottom are not getting 'enough' then we need the people at the top to 'carry their burden'. First of all, who said it's MY responsibility to carry someone else's burden. I chose not to have kids so I could afford a certain lifestyle. And now the liberals want ME to pay for someone else's kids? Second. WHO decides what is ENOUGH for the people on the bottom? Beggars can't be choosers.

Did obama ever REALLY have control over the economy? A free market means that Obama couldn't touch it. Obama can only try to fix it with goverment proggrams.

Lemme tell you something Im a third year medical student, with a debt (which im not compalining about it comes with the territory) in around 6 figures, after alomost 8 years of education and 3-4 years of residency after college. I deserve to get a good salary without the govt taking 40 percent of my paycheck. It just doesnt make sense, why work this hard and be in so much debt if the govt takes the money I deserve.
