The temple looks like the Lightning temple from Tales of Symphonia. Is that what the sidequest is?

can i battle with sword dancer near to the game end?, i dont face him before leave Choral castle, but now, the sword begone? what happened?

Yeah, he's gone for good. The cutoff point the fight him is before entering Akzeriuth. Once you enter there, the sword disappears and you won't be able to fight him.

@TCD252009 It's just an sidequest that's completely separate from the main plot, so it doesn't really spoil anything story related.

At these levels you really won't need the exp it drops. But then again I beat it on the north american PS2 version at level 11 which the exp does help.
Its just that at level 17 the 3800 exp it drops will be barely worth 1 to 2 levels.

@Vegesther Yeah, at this point I was just fighting him to enable the second Sword Dancer battle later on rather than any sort of significant EXP gain.
