http://www.SavetheInternet.com Congressman Ed Markey opens the "Wireless Innovation and Consumer Protection" hearing of the Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet
This is the biggest load of crap ever. Comparing the problem of not being able to get an IPhone from any other wireless carrier is like comparing the problem of walking into a Ford dealership, and not being able to get a brand new Chevy. The Iphone is AT&T's product. It's neither AT&T nor Apples problem that other carriers don't have the IPhone, and didn't want to spend the money at the time (now they have the android) to develop a product to compete with the Iphone.
Eddy: Why not let the free market handle technology? Worried that the government can't embezzle any wealth in the deal, kind of like elective surgery?
Two Words: Ed WHO? This guy musta got mad back in the 80's when he bought a Sony Betamax and couldn't rent and use VHS tapes in it. Next he was mad after buying 1 DBS satellite company's equipment, he couldn't use it with another. Maybe he bought a Diesel car and wanted to put Gasoline in it. KEEEP YOUR PAWS OUT OF COMPANY'S MARKETING AGREEMENTS! What an idiot! *looks up "Ed Markey"* Should have known Demorat from mAss. Typical commie Lib.
No one is forced to buy an IPHONE I have been screwed by at least 4 cellphone carriers. The PUBLIC SERVANTS IN WASHINGTON have a lot more important issues to work on I do believe. Russia & Cuba control everything look at how they live.
Wow, i'm surprized that they would consider taking on these corp monsters to allow more freedom to cell phone loving public. I'd have an iphone right now if the services werent just exclusive to at&t. They've gotten every current iphone owner by the balls wheather they like it or not.
Sen. Dingle and Cong Markey are doing the right thing with statements about the Iphone. I is is time to outlaw contracts and allow phone users unlimited moves.
We need free open access phone service to licensees. There should be 20 non profit co.s who get free licenses contingent on their utilizing annual innovation or some such requirement that guarantees ongoing improvements and user friendly policies.
its all part of capitali$im in amerika, the people get less choice with the big boys, and innovation is stifled. enjoy your crippled iphones ...ATT wont get my business.

What the hell.. The federal government has no right to take up valuable time telling a private company how to market their product.
Everything is so political...
