The Statute of Autonomy of Galicia, 1936, approved by almost all municipalities in Galicia and an absolute majority of its population, despite the obstacles of the government of the Second Republic for approval, recognized some basic rights of the Galician nation. Everyone who participated in its formulation and defense have been killed, imprisoned, exiled or suffered persecution during the infamous Franco dictatorship.

The current Statute of Autonomy of Galicia was designed by former officials of the Franco regime, without taking into account the demands of the exiles or a significant portion of the rights before the fascist coup d'etat, that took place shortly after the victory of the democratic referendum for self-government of Galicia.

  • it's ok my friend, as we don't speak Spanish, Galician is our language, but are forced to speak castlian, as for the Irish, they are well looked upon in Galiza, as they are considered brothers.
