Like Motion Painting Number One, a tribute to the stereo paintings of the brilliant Oskar Fischinger. A surreal and abstract experiment in stop-motion animation, collage, and the painting process. Watercolor and guache on canvas, digital photos edited together with Adobe Premiere. Painstakingly syncronized to a song by Raymond Scott.

Created for Painting With Water-Based Media in Spring 2006.

  • I cried of laughter when our teacher showed us this wonderful film during Art History at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Great job, but the context our teacher placed it in made it funny. Especially with the song XD

  • @LinleyBrosLLC really??? woah!

  • Very nice. Would be better if the camera didn't shake quite so much, though.

  • That was a problem, I'll admit, that I was aware of from the first test I did of this. But I thought it was endearing and added character to it, the same way the blurry parts do as well.

btw I just got the Norman McLaren box set and it is animation seventh heaven! that man was a bloody genius!
