Mogens Pedersøn (c. 1585 - 1623):
JEG VIL MIG HERREN LOVE
Pedersøn is the most prominent of Danish composers during the reign of Christian IV. He studied in Venice with Giovanni Gabrieli and later in England. In 1618 he was appointed Vice-director of the Danish Royal Chapel. His collection PRATUM SPIRITUALE, which was printed in Copenhagen in 1620, contains a mass, some Latin responses, 3 motets and a number of Lutheran psalms in Danish for 5-part choir.
