  • I happened to love the So Damn Happy album.. I don't get why you dissed it so hard. I thought she had much better songs on that album than this one.

  • @ChefBrianGriess - I didn't diss So Damn Happy "SO HARD" as you put it. I just enjoy this album a lot more than So Damn Happy. One thing I do like more about So Damn Happy is that the music is a bit of a variety when it comes to how each song sounds. This new one to many of the songs sound the same. The nice thing is that on this album Aretha high notes are pretty good. She only had one or two high notes on So Damn Happy.

  • Part 1 - The new album is out and I have to say it's a heck of a lot better than So Damn Happy and the Christmas album. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give the album a 8.5 I'd give it a 10 but the only reason why I don't is because all of the songs except for 3 sound excactly the same and Aretha's son Eddie singing His Eye Is On The Sparrow on the the album to me has nothing to do with A WOMAN FALLING OUT OF LOVE. Eddie should have taken the song and put it on his own album.

  • Part 2 - As far as the voice on a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 8.5 Her singing on this album is a lot better than it was on the Christmas album and a whole lot better than So Damn Happy. Except for a couple of songs on this album, Aretha's "Falsetto" is a bit to much and you really can't understand what she's singing. About 95% of the singing is "Falsetto" But you can tell she took the time to really get it right vocally, especially with the high notes.

  • Part 3 - Plus the songs that Aretha sang in concert in the past few years that she would always say this is from the new LP aren't on the album. The way she's promoting this album is about A WOMAN FALLING OUT OF LOVE, and moving on, but a few of the songs on the album have absolutly nothing to to with a relationship between a man and a woman going good or bad. It's kinda of puzzling to me as to why those songs are on there. Maybe she ran out of songs and was just filling in the blanks.

  • Part 4 - You can also tell which songs were recorded before and after the weight loss. Aretha has been talking about releasing this album for the past 5 years and finally did. So some of these songs were recorded quite sometime ago. But unfortunitly this album wont do very well cause Aretha has done a horrible job of promoting her music in the last 10 years. The only way in todays time your gonna see success in sales is to promote the right way. Music video's, radio play, and so on.

  • Lady Soul. You are blowing me away w/ this masterful performance of your infectious instrument, your signature emotion, your tasteful jazz nuances and treatment of this song. YOU taught generartions well and continue to. Thank YOU. God Bless The Queen!

BTW, Let us music lovers get into the practice of honoring and respecting our ((Black) legends who made it possible for many of today's half talents to become famous for reasons other than their musical longevity and integrity. Wake up!

  • @faznout She makes her money doing concerts, royalties, and she owns her music. She's been in the biz long enough that she can rely on her name and legendary status.

  • loving it

  • I like where she went with this song a refreshing road to travel

  • As long as Aretha keeps singing like this, I am happy. Even when her voice was not at its best, I was thrilled by her art of working a song until it was hers alone. Nobody can touch her talent. She does some things with her voice that no one else can do, it seems. And, she is smart enough to know that, yet very humble. I love Queen Aretha.

  • This is a beautiful cut. Vocals and production are 1st class. And the song is well written.

  • On this song her voice is in great form. ..Go Ree ! This song is definitely for grown folks...not the kiddies......deep message ! great arrangement too !

  • This too is one of favorites. Thanks so much for posting.

Wow! it is such a hot CD. Love hearing Aretha at her best.

  • You better sing it Aretha!
