An inspiring pianist. Performance by Frank Merandi.
"Unforgettable" is a popular song written by Irving Gordon. His real name was Irving Goldner. The song's original working title was "Uncomparable". The music publishing company asked Irving to change it to "Unforgettable". The song was published in 1951. The most popular version of the song was recorded by Nat King Cole in 1951, with an arrangement written by Nelson Riddle. A non-orchestrated version of the song recorded in 1952 is featured as a bonus track on the CD reissue of 1955's completely instrumental (save the bonus material) Penthouse Serenade. Cole again recorded the tune ten years later, in a stereo version recorded for the album The Nat King Cole Story. His version of the song was included in its entirety in the 2009 film Watchmen. In 1991, Cole's 1962 recording of the song was edited and remixed to create a duet with his daughter, Natalie, which won three awards at the Grammy Awards of 1992: Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance [1].

Lyrics-

Unforgettable, that's what you are
Unforgettablethough near or far
Like a song of love that clings to me
How the thought of you does things to me
Never before has someone been more

Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, that's how you'll stay
That's why, darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too

Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, that's how you'll stay
That's why, darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too

  • You play really good--but it's a bit too much for me. I like the simplicity of the melody line without too many bass notes. And yeah, I know it's improv.

  • I'd like to hear you play it without all the bravura. Betcha it would sound even nicer.

  • No offence guy but it sounds kinda jumbled together I mean I don't claim to be worlds best pianist and you played well it just sounds like it was jumbled

  • The whole song is forte...

  • You have talent but take it from an experienced pianist, Less means More Bro... Flare in your presentation helps to set you apart from other musicians but this is WAY too much!!

  • You did a very good job. There was a lot to take in, but you did a good job on stressing the melody, but I feel like I'm going to have a bass-induced headache now, if you know what I mean. All in all, though, nice job.

  • not so good :S

  • bravizzimo superb!!!!!!!!

  • bravo

  • loved your style, did you play that by the sheets or by ear. 5 stars from me.
