Putting aside the use of 'islamic', it's interesting that Santorum criticizes Islam for taking the Koran literaly. It's the exact same thing he does with the Bible. I wonder why he thinks that's any different.

piranha, what is your point? islam does not believe jesus is the "son of god" as christians do (they also at times refer to jesus as god incarnate), but he is a messener and warner, a nasi and rasul, like muhammad. both are prophets. adam and noah are prophets in the qur'an as well.

one significant difference noted in sura 4:158/159, is that allah did not allow jesus to die on the cross but raised him up to heaven to wait until judgement day. even muhammad isn't afforded that and dies a mortal.

piranha, regardless of religious belief or adherence, you stated as fact that jesus is not considered a prophet in the qur'an, which is incorrect. he most certainly is. i hope this helps.

Compare Surah IV:157 with Matt. 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, John 19 and Psalm 22.

Joe Jackson was a baseball player from 1908-1920. He died in 1951. In 1982 W.P. Kinsella published a book in which Jackson magically appears in an Iowa cornfield. The novel was made into a film called Field of Dreams. This is an example of an actual historical figure being used in a work of fiction. I hope this helps.

also, sura 19, maryam, is named after jesus' mother mary. sura 19 details the immaculate conception of jesus and his birth.

it also discusses how he blessed by allah: "peace be upon him the day he is born, the day he dies, and the day he is resurrected."

piranha, jesus is named 93 times in the qur'an. he is referred to as the son of mary. it's the same jesus. isa is jesus, like yusef of sura 12 is jacob's son joseph.

Rachel is da bomb! "The Koran....is only written in Islamic"....Rick Santorum is ejumacated....why can't he pick up his his rifle and dead possum and head home? Oh, and Muslims (also Christians) take their Religious text literally....So, Democracy can't exist.....haha....I love the way Rachel threw that one in there.....Santorum's logic works again.....So, we should get rid of the Christians, b/c Democracy could never work with them.....Santorum needs to have some faith in people

Don't Christians think the bible is perfect and the word of God?  So by Santorums logic democracy can't exist in a Christian nation.
