In September 2009 we felt the call to adopt a child from Ethiopia and we started the process. In October 2010 we were matched with 4 week old Mareto who was very ill and considered special needs. In January 2011 we traveled to Ethiopia to meet him for the first time and attend court. In February we returned for our embassy appointment and to finally bring him home. He was 4 1/2 months old. After being home 6 months he is completely healthy and been healed of each medical problem he came home with. This video is our journey to bring him home and into our family.

What a beautiful little boy you have been blessed with! We have 10 children and are hoping to adopt a sibling group of 3 from the US foster care system within the next year.
Still, my heart tugs me towards Ethiopia...maybe one day. :)

Brings back so many memories. Do all have to travel to Ethiopia to attend court now, or was that your decision?

@scazxr Effective May 2010 all families adopting from Ethiopia have to attend court and then return 3-12 weeks later (or longer in some cases) for embassy. :)
