HMS Victory in 1:100 scale, is a purely sail-powered ship. Like her historical counterpart, this model has no onboard motor for propulsion. I can control the sails and rudder, and that's it. Today I sailed her in very, very light winds for her maiden voyage. It made for a slow and relaxing journey.

Yes, she isn't complete yet. I'm still missing a few sails, a bunch of decks are missing, and most of the standing rigging is missing. She'll look much better when complete. But I had to test the ship NOW, before I leave for the boot camp.

BTW, I will be joining the US Navy in less than two weeks. This means I will be traveling the world seeing new and interesting combat clubs. Expect cool new videos in the next few years. Just don't expect something in the next two months, while I'm at boot camp...

  • You guys should so have a 17th century naval battle

  • @jcsv12345 These are a little too small to be armed, but I hope to have a proof-of-concept mock battle soon, now that I have two comparable square-riggers ready. Expect new video soon.

  • @jcsv12345 I'm working on it. Got two 44-gun frigates under construction right now. Given my class schedule, though, it'll probably be at least 6 months to a year before I post any Age of Sail battles.

  • Great work Carl, she looks beautiful. How did you adjust trim on the masts separately?

  • @Kun2112 I have two separate servos controlling the sails. One controls foremast and jibs, the other controls the main and mizzen. I have not yet hooked up controls for the spanker.
