Useful perspective on why people become addicted (to reduce inner pain from like shame, guilt, fear,l emptiness, sadness, confusion, and lonliness), and keys to managing any of the four kinds of addiction. Addiction is NOT a disease or character "flaw."
Under activity addictions I would also include compulsion for self help resources. I think I have become addicted to this self improvement course. And I presume it is a strategy for trying to relieve inner pain. I hope that in the end it is not just an intellectual distraction to temporary escape from pain, but that I can achieve some real healing as well
Yes I did notice that. It happens all the time. I guess you don't like to hear that people have different views and opinions and prefer to close the debate. I am NOT lecturing and if that's how you want to see it, be it. I feel strongly about these things and I refuse to accept careless loaded wording. I have much respect for what you are trying to do and find it unnecessary to push ideas about a "God". When someone hits rock bottom, it is their conscience (i.e True Self?) talking to them.
I like many of the concepts you discuss about the cycle however, it sounds like you don't have much training in neuroscience. I would encourage you to investigate about brain development, endocrine function and how trauma affects the thinking process. Your explanations regarding Faith in higher powers (perhaps the magician subself) is just a silly cop out from a real more plausible explanation, which science can offer. Faith in anything can temporarily help but it doesn't follow it is the truth.
The only reason why I sound so dogmatic is because there is not enough room here to explain anything properly. I happen to know that what you describe is the result of a lack of development in the frontal lobe where judgement, analysis and reasoning skills develop with time but only if in a relatively safe environment. Being rational and self-aware is the ultimate result. Something psychologically wounded adults are incapable of doing, unless they retrain their brain and feel reasonably safe.
I wonder why you're so threatened by these ideas? Your arrogance, criticism, and sarcasm are common symptoms of being controlled by a false self. (wounded). Im glad you're doing well now. Stay tuned, friend. and see what you think in a decade or so.
Faith in anything is believing without "proof." Spiritual faith is believing in the existance of an attentive, responsive Power that transcends human limits and understanding. "Dogma" is black-white belief and ritiuals without awareness. I have spiritual faith becuzse of real experiences of a caring Higher Power, not some Holy Book. Looks to me like you're pretty dogmatic" in your own way :-)
I considered that you may be a decent person who is well intentioned. But, to tell someone who is actually doing very well for the first time ever(just shy of a year), that they are NOT going to make it because their way doesn't line up with your "technology " is just plain mean. I suggest that YOU are the one in denial.
Stop hurting people and face the fact that what you in the university was a waste of time. We don't need you..get a real job.

Apparently you don't realize that when you arroghantly lecture other people (like me), they (I) will stop paying any attention to your ideas.
