Watching a movie 'Invictus' will guide you some insights on how to handle some complicated situations. It's a must for you to watch. It will give you some deep thinkings that relate to Audism, and Deaf Hate Speeches among hearing and d/Deaf people.

  • Another solution would be to sue more. Deaf people are to passive in their approach to discrimination. Yes, being passive makes us better than hearing people as it makes us less arrogant and more humble, but at the same time it does not help to end discrimination against the Deaf.

  • @kalijasin Agreed - that is why I make some vlogs to empower or make some Deaf people THINK twice...I am not going to give up on empowering the awareness.

  • @kalijasin Yes, you are right about those hearing parents of a DEAF child, they deserve the truth, not ILLUSION. That is what the evil companies take advantage of those poor heartbroken or confusing parents. I feel it is important to educate those hearing parents FIRST, and then we (Deaf adults and hearing parents) can make this STOP. It can be done, thanks to technology era.

  • @JADEAV Yes, very cool :)

  • @ASLeslie Amen!

  • I think one solution would be to stop giving business to businesses that wont accommodate and respect the Deaf. I've been to places where they just wont accept me if I sign and also wont make another alternative for me available to facilitate communication, like writing. With business like that I just walk right now and never ever return.

  • @ASLeslie But its not just raising children oral, even though that is a big part of it. They are finding new ways to bypass deaf culture all together since Deaf education, which includes oralism, is dropping off. One way they are doing this is through the implanting of babies and children. We cannot do anything about that either as most deaf who are born deaf are born into hearing families.

  • @kalijasin Yes, I am aware, but it is not over yet. It is up to us, just like Nelson Mandela who did not give up for what he believes in. We ought to do the same - what do you think?

  • @ASLeslie That's how they are accomplishing their goal though. Through oralism and implantation.

  • @kalijasin So are you telling me that we are doing all right? I don't think so ... there are a countless group of Deaf children who ALREADY are implanted. Now there are more and more educaitonal programs for Deaf children to ban ASL here in USA. This is not over yet....we must do something about this.
